Science Interactive Spider Lapbook

Yay, I finally finished my Spider lapbook.  And can I just tell you - wow, I even impressed myself.  Every time I make one, they improve.

Haven't had time to do the usual photo shoot, but I do have a quick video walk through on how I put it all together.

There are plenty of options available for different parts inside the pack as well for the cloze, writing, pockets, vocabulary etc...  but this is what I put in it for Charlotte for when January arrives and when we resume school.

Thanks so much chookies.

Recognizing Numerals

Here's a little numeral matching activity.

Perfect for your preschoolers.

I'll be giving it to Noah until it's mastered.  If he gets bored I could always change the theme, but yes, let's start with this one!

It's basically a game board and matching numerals on a Bee theme. {I needed to pick a theme, and since I had the clipart, I chose those.}

Just click on any picture to download.

Just print....

and cut out and play.....

Thanks for dropping by.

A Spider Poem

This morning I found an awesome poem to put inside my Spider Lapbook - which I have now finished writing, but still need to assemble, hence its non-availability at the moment.  I just need to assemble and take all the photos and video footage of the assembly before I make it available in the store.  You understand.  I am sure.

We are still unpacking and I haven't found the A3 paper or my tripod yet.

However, I just wanted to do a quick little share here of the poem that I've included.

There is a second page - with the remaining portion of the poem and a little fly on it too.

At any rate, thanks so much for visiting.  Just click the poem above to down load it.

A New Dining Table

Sometimes there's real life.

In this case, one of this weeks real life happened to be a dining table.

We needed to buy a new one since we moved and we didn't bring one with us.

Here's the new one:

We upgraded to a 10 seater since we actually physically need 8 places, so that leaves 2 spots for visitors.

Truth is though, we'll just pull out the camping table/chairs if we need more seating room for a dinner party.  :)

But in the mean time I figure, a bigger dining table equals a bigger school room - we do school at the dining table.

Teddy Bear Phonogram Flash Cards

Sometimes when you retire items from the store it's nice to be able to go back and pull them out again after a long while when you remember them.  { or need them again }

In this case I pulled out this set this morning and thought, oh, someone else might be able to get some use out of them.  I thought about putting them back in the store, but then I thought they'd make a great little freebie instead.

It actually has 3 sets inside the pack.

The first set is colored has examples of the phonogram in a word, the second has just the phonogram, and the third set is black line.  When using the black lined version have the children write in their own examples of words using each phonogram.

Yeah, one page at a time. :)

2018 Yearly Planner Page

Yes, it's that time again.  Where does the time go?   The school year just flew by, didn't it?  Now, it's time that I start getting next year's ducks all in a neat little row.

Today we have the yearly planner.
I use it to plan my school / vacation time.

Just click the page for download.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Animal Comprehension Test Time Bundle

I'm doing something that I don't normally do.  I am going to make a BUNDLE.  Yep, I'm going to bundle up all my little animal comprehension / test times together and make a bundle with them.  I do sell them individually, and I also put them in their corresponding lapbooks.  However, what to do if someone just wants a nice collection of mini stand alone animal comprehension worksheets?

Drum roll.......

An Animal comprehension test time BUNDLE.

Animal Test Time Comprehension BUNDLE

I am starting it off with 4 animals and will continue to grow it as I add more.

Each page is a stand alone and the questions relate to the mini passage at the top of each page.

I'm really enjoying adding all these cool new things.

Spider Jigsaws and Supplements

As some of you know, I have been immersed in writing a Spider Lapbook.  It's going to be slow and steady since I don't have a home of my own just yet.  To complicate it we'll have to detour to a caravan stay for a couple of weeks as well.

Along the way I've been detoured a couple of times with supplementals.

Here's one:

12 Spider Jigsaw Puzzles

Yep, a whole book of Spider Types as jigsaws.

I've put both a colored version and a black line version of each spider in there.

It's 12 different spiders, but 24 pages.

Super fun, super handy if you just happen to be doing Spiders in your theme work.

12 Spider Jigsaw Puzzles
I also have some Spider Types Bracelets / Arm Bands depending if you are male or female.

There are 12 different spiders in this little mini pack too.

Just something to make it more fun to learn some cool stuff.

Spider Types Bracelets

If one is opposed to wearing them it would be super easy to just link them up into chains for show and tell.  You can even use them as bookmarks.  Pretty versatile.

Yes, just wanted to share some new stuff I've been working on.

Guy Fawkes Day - The Gunpowder Plot

All teaching British History - put your hands up.

Awesome.

Here's one for the 5th of November:

Our Island Story Guy Fawkes Day Gunpowder Plot

How this pack gets used is largely depending upon what grade level it is used for. It works a little different from most school material because it can actually work for ALL the primary grades with little to no tweaking.  True story.

For grades 1 - 4
Use the 4 page reading passage as a read aloud in the classroom.
Follow through with the vocabulary, letter writing, jigsaw, paragraph writing templates and worksheets as provided.

For grades 5 - 7
Use the passage for outlining and writing their own essay.
It will take about 4 lesson times to complete.
Activity 1 - Read the passage, do the worksheets.
Activity 2 - Write an outline.
Activity 3 - Write an essay based on the outline.
Activity 4 - Proofread, edit, add illustrations for final presentations.

Contents:
A short program guide.
A lengthy 4 page passage.
Vocabulary scrap page { introductory piece to topic }
A comprehension page { introductory piece to topic }
A letter writing page { introductory piece to topic }
Vocabulary cut and paste.
Vocabulary cut apart cards.
Two writing templates for paragraph writing for the littles.
A jigsaw.
The Gunpowder Plot Rhyme.

So, if you don't already have your barrels in a row for Guy Fawkes Day, I'd love to help you with that.  Just click on the cover up there at the top and head over to the store where I've done all the hard work for you.  All you'll have to do is print and deliver.
