Australian History

Well my little chickadees, next year will be here before we know it, and so will our 4th year History cycle - which will be Australian History.  Here's what I've got on the plate, good to go, at the moment.

Main Spine:

-The Land They Found

Readers:

-The Voyages of Captain Cook
-The Voyages of Matthew Flinders
-Captain William Bligh
-They Came by Sea
-The Eureka Stockade
-The Rush to Gold
-A Sailor with Captain Cook

For Fun:

- Australian Sea Stories
- Australian Bushrangers
- Snugglepot and Cuddlepie
- The Muddle-Headed Wombat
- Storm Boy

Famous Australians:

-Caroline Chisholm
-Elizabeth Macarthur
-Douglas Mawson

Everyday Life in Australia:

-Federation Times

Communications:

-Sea
-Road

Australian Resources:

Cattle and Beef

Not Quite Australian but still fitting in with the 4 year cycle:

-SOTW IV
-Abraham Lincolns World

I have a few other little goodies sitting on the shelves, but I'm not sure if I'll have time for them or not.  Additionally, if we have time near the end of the year, Playing Beattie Bow will be a nice fun read { even though we've already read it }.

Do you have any MUST haves for Australian History, readers or curriculum, that you can recommend?  Do share.

The Dig Tree The most comprehensive biography of the Burke and Wills expedition across Australia.  I give this one 20/10 it's excellently researched and most of the book is fulled with quotes from original source documents.  Excelently researched and compiled a must have for any Australia study in High School.
