Week 6

Our Van Gogh for the week:

Biography update:

Now, I've got to tell you, Vincent is not having much fun in his life at all, and he's already 30.  It's pretty depressing.  He's experienced starvation, sickness, hopelessness, and failure.   The only thing really going for him is that he's finally figured out that he wants to do Art.  His father has thrown him out again, and his cousin has totally and utterly refused him.  It hurt him so bad that he ended up in a drinking house only to pick up a strange { pregnant } lady with which to finally secure him the female touch, even if it was costing him a franc.

FEBRUARY, 2nd came again!  Woodchuck { Groundhog Day.  :o)

My favourite read aloud for Groundhog Day is:

After the story quickly write down some of things that we can remember.

Facts and Opinions.  It's good to be able to write them, and to know the difference.

A craft topper, but this one was done by Charlotte { 4 }.

Rough Draft

Final presentation.

Drawing / Painting Woodchucks.
See, it pays to visit teacher bloggers.  One in particular had a step by step drawing of a woodchuck as a craft for her class - so I took a one minute sketch and we used it this afternoon with great success.

Even Charlotte traced and painted one too.

Hannahs writing, craft and painting.

And then, sometimes we make personalized book covers out of paintings.

Chloes History copywork.

And this morning I was up nice and early making play dough for Charlotte.

Recipe and method:

1 cup of plain flour
1/2 cup of cooking salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
mix
1 tablespoon oil
A good dash of food coloring
1 cup of boiling water
mix
And enjoy~!
