Starting Grade 2 Maths

Hannah has now graduated from Grade 1 to Grade 2 Maths.

Here's one of her new lessons.  It starts off with some easy revision.

I think we may be finally going to start slowing down now.  That would be good, as I think we need to go back to spending more time in the reading department.  :o)

  1. We use Rod and Staff math too. My 1st grader is absolutely flying through it, but having done 2nd grade with my oldest and now moving into 3rd grade I can assure you, she WILL slow down :) Your girls are precious! They remind me of my own three daughters!

  2. I was unsure about R&S but trusted the Memoria Press recommendations and I'm so glad that I did. We're loving it so far.

I wanted to let you know that Memoria Press Blog Roll button has been updated. :) http://creativemadnessmama.com/2012-2013-memoria-press-blog-roll/

  3. I LOVE Rod and Staff for Maths - especially in the grammmar and logic years. :o) It looks very unassuming from the outside, but it is real academic work on the inside. It truly takes into account what a child can do - and it fits perfectly in a classical model. It is a product I can recommend and endorse whole heartedly. :o)

Having said that, for the senior years we might have to find something else, like Saxon, { or something else because I'm in Australia } but in the mean time - Rod and Staff is the way to go for us.
