Fun Friday

This week I'm joining back up with Kelly over at Teaching Fourth for another week of Fun Friday.  I hope you will join us.

This week our 18 year old came home for a holiday for 2 weeks.  So we're half way through his visit at the moment.   On Tuesday he went with Chloe, Daniel, and myself up the hill so that he could try out skiing for the first time in his life.  He did awesome.  Pure natural, even if he did hurt his knee along the way.  He reckons, "go hard, or go home".   I think his method works well since he has totally surpassed my level of skiing just on his first day.  He's all ready to go again tomorrow with his dad and another brother.

Now even though we had the excitement of big brother coming home for a visit we still continued to do some school though.

I don't know why, but MONEY is FUN to children.

We use an American curriculum for Maths, but when it comes to money I swap it out for home grown currency.

I have oodles ( a really good amount ) of plastic play money that are VERY good take offs of the real thing.

If you are in Australia and would like a copy of the boards that I used just click HERE.  I made 8 pages worth for practising adding up coins.

And just before I leave for the day, I thought I'd share a couple of photos of the girls that I got earlier in the week.

Little Miss 1 also has the same outfit ( well same dress ).

I can't wait to have all 4 of them in a photo together.

  3. Children do love working with money! I honestly wish that all parents let their children use real money because it is actually so much more meaningful to them!
