Drawing Hair

I've been super busy these last couple of weeks with Uni and life but I managed to get a little Art peek in yesterday with this:

I don't want to paint her in case I ruin her.

I enjoyed doing her hair that way.  It was a good lesson.

Elephant Life Cycle Story and Comprehension

Today I want to highlight my Elephant Life Cycle Story and Comprehension pack.

It's comes from my Elephant lapbook, but I decided to make it a separate offering as time could be a huge factor when choosing lessons for your Elephant theme.

Inside this mini pack is a 3 page text passage on the life cycle of the Elephant followed by comprehension questions and a wordsearch.
Just click either the cover or the worksheets to go to my store.

It's only $3.00.

Thanks so much for visiting.

Letter of the Week - Aa

Does anyone remember the Letter of the Week project that I was working on back in 2017?

Well, it was a big project.  So big that I didn't actually complete it.  So, I decided to cut it right down and see how I went with that.

Let's have another go at it, shall we?

Happy Venture Readers

One of the beautiful things about home schooling is that you get to collect a lot of great books.  Then on random days you get to use some of those awesome books.

In this case, I pulled out the Introductory Book for Noah to read.  He recently turned 6 by the way.

{ Collectable and Out of Print }

Inside peek:

I love old collectable out of print books.

Do you keep those types of books too?

Elephant Comprehension Test Time

Today I separated out the Comprehension Test Time pages from my Elephant interactive lapbook.  This will be particularly handy if you only need a small extra item for your Elephant unit, or if you want to cover some interesting facts about the Elephant but are short of time.

All the questions relate directly to the written text on the page.

Inside are the following 4 pages:

My First Urban Sketch

Today I decided to try my very first urban sketch.  It is based on Peter Steeler's YouTube video walk through that he did online.

I'm very pleased with the results, especially since it is my first one.

First, I did the sketch with a 2B pencil.

Then I black lined it with a uniball black pen.

Then I used my water colours to colour it in.

Have you tried any urban sketching??  Let me know.

Multiple Phonogram Spelling Workbook - oa

I've added another little pack to a series that I'm writing:

Multiple Phonogram Spelling Workbook - oa

Just click the cover to go to the pack.

I actually made it for Noah to practice his { oa } phonogram.

He still has a few worksheets to do to complete the pack.

Here's one of the pages completed.
I highly recommend writing the focus phonogram out in a different color.

Thanks so much for dropping by my dear friends.

Let me know how your phonogram studies are going these days.

Noah Doing Maths

4y27d

Lessons 15 and 16..........

where I introduce the usage of the abacus AND touch points together in the same lesson for each question.  As we go further along we'll see the use of the touch points increase his speed for computation greatly remarkably.  So, this is a definite must.  Additionally, the abacus is for concrete and visual representation of the question.

Snake Handling

The children got to hold a real snake this morning while we were out at the shops.

And Noah pats the snake while it sits on Hannah's shoulders.

Yes, a real life dingo.....
