As you know I made a new lapbook on Salmon, then I thought, so..... what little extra's should we make to compliment it?

Printing Tip:  Print the Days of the Week and Months of the Year words on colored paper - that way when they are glued on the white worksheet background they will nicely contrast it.

Months of the Year Wall Chart and Bookmark

When you make the Months of the Year into a chart for the wall.......... and you use the answer key as a bookmark.

Yep.

I just printed out the Months of the Year pages that I wanted, cut the top off the bottom section and taped it up to join it to the top section.  All good to go.  All I have to do now is find a wall space to put it for practice.

I also came to the thought of using the answer key as a book mark.  Super happy with that idea.  :)

Penguin Days of the Week

Today I'm sharing a Penguin Days of the Week, Months of the Year Center Pack.

I thought now would be the perfect time to add it to our little Penguin Lapbook project as an extra, on the side activity for the remainder of the month.

It comes with 2 anchor charts;

this is the Days of the Week chart.

There are 4 worksheet options for practicing the Days of the Week.

This makes it particularly useful when you need to do the activity again a couple of times.

Just print up the days of the week on colored paper and cut and paste into order.

There are also 4 different options for the Months of the Year worksheets as well.

For differentiation, just have the children write them instead of cut and pasting them.

A couple of fill in your own dates for August.

Some hand cards for ordering.  There's a 2nd set also included in the file as well.

And finally, we have a Months of the Year set of cards as well.

If you print the cards in color I highly recommend laminating them for longer usage.

Yeah, so that's pretty much it.  In hindsight I should have made this earlier in the month when I first did the Penguin Lapbook, but never mind, better late than never!

Days the Week & Months of the Year

One of life's beauties is that when you put together a resource once you can come back and use it again and again.  I like handy stuff like that.

This week I've got one of those neat little packs that I recently retired from my store.

Just click on any picture to download the pack.

It has a couple of pages for the Days of the Week practice.  Have the child simply write the days in or use the cut and paste words also provided.   I like to print the days up on colored paper, they look nicer that way when they come to gluing them on.

There are also a couple of different pages for the Months of the Year, and they also come with the months for cut and pasting too.

Included are a couple of Anchor Charts as well.

Yeah, at any rate, I hope these are useful to someone, somewhere along the line.

Learning the Days of the Week.

I made a up a couple of sets of cards with some cute animals on them as a theme in each set, and even though I don't have a color printer, they still worked well.

I laminated mine so that we could use them again and again.  I've got a few children that they need to go through.  :o)

AND I made a little cheat sheet for the children so that they can check their own work at the end to make sure that they got them all in the right order.  On the top side of the card it has a little hippo but yeah, on the back it has the Days of the Week in order.  :o)
