A Montessori Pack for the Letter Aa

Today I wanted to share my Montessori Pack for the Letter Aa.

I don't know if I'll make any more, but we'll see.

In the mean time I thought that it might be of some use to you if you are:

teaching the letter Aa,
or numbers to 12,
or doing an apple theme,
or ant theme.

It comes with an anchor chart.

Some 3 part cards in color.

The same 3 part cards in black and white to save your ink.

Some mini books for the children to practice writing.

Some counting cards.

Cards with no numbers, so you could match them up to the set before.

And there's an apple set too.
It's 30 pages.
Enjoy!

Catch Up Friday

Ok, I  *think*  this might be the last of the apple stuff.

As it turned out I had a little cherry stamp and a leaves stamp, so we put them to good use with making an apple tree.

The toilet rolls I collected also came handy.

How the apple tree is looking today.

The weather has been lovely and warm this week.

I just love the beautiful blooms that come with this tree.

Hannah ( 3y6m ) still continued to work on her multiple phonograms.   This week I gave her another 6 phonograms to learn and she has been doing very well.

I've got a favourite BLM that I often use.  But because Hannah is just starting out with writing I photocopied her pages bigger than the normal A4 size.  So half is on the first page, and the other half is on the next page.

I'm pretty impressed with her ability.  Makes for a nice surprise and encouragement.

Don't suppose you remember the single phonogram workbook version of the following?   Well, this is out of the multiple phonogram workbook that I have.   I am hoping to have that posted sooner than later.

I'm not sure why Hannah hasn't attempted to write her OWN on the last part of each line.  Perhaps I will encourage her to do that from now on with the next lot of sounds.

I got the following worksheet for FREE in a workbook from Mrs Ricca's Kindergarten.  Just click the worksheet to go and grab a copy of her workbooks.

Chloe ( 7y ) did 'Plants' for science this week.

Parts of a Plant.

The following worksheet I got off the net for FREE from Melissa over at: Dilly Dabbles

It fitted in PERFECT for what we needed.

And a weeeee little assessment at the end.

We only have 3 weeks left of school now~!!

And I actually managed to get a good photo of the two little boys ( grandsons ) that live with us.

This is Kadafi - who has very recently turned 3.

This is Letrell - 21months.

This week I am linking up with:

and

and

I hope you will join us~!!

Multiple Phonogram Word Sorts

Do you remember my Apple unit that had the multiple phonogram word sort in there?

Well, I tweaked it, and worked on it, and now it is a 38 page book. 35 of those pages are for printing and using in your lessons.

I ended up with 10 sort boards, each board has 3 sounds on it.

I also added a second level of work. This is where I colored the
focus phonogram red.

Check out these samples.

The cover page.  A little bit similar to the Apple one.  I laminated mine to go on the cover of my file folder.  That's where I store all my worksheets that we are going to use.

And I kept these - and continued to make 4 more SETS of them.  So I got a total of 30 sounds/apples.

I also kept this, and I ended up with 10 sort boards~!!  Yep, and each board has 3 different sounds on it.  That's a lot of phonograms to look at.  :o)

And this is where things got changed up a little.

I decided that I should only provide the words for each individual board.   This meant that I could get two copies of the words on the same page.  That would work well if you needed multiple copies in a classroom.  :o)

Then I added a lower level version of the words.  When I say lower level, I just mean that I made the focus phonogram red to make it EASIER for the child to work out where the word should go.

Yeah, so there you have it.  That's how it all came out.

Here is one of the worksheets done by the older girls.

I spent a week occasionally reviewing 6 phonograms ( with Hannah ) which I had made into little stick puppets.

She thought this was heaps fun, and it only took like a minute each time too.  Super easy.  Super quick.  Super efficacious.

And at the end of the week I gave Hannah one of these worksheets, with which she did without any problems at all.

Worksheet done by Miss Hannah ( 3y5m )

And just in case you are curious,
This book is over in my TpT store for only $1.50.  Do you think that is a fair price?   It's just that I often see files with LESS pages for quite a LOT more money on them.  So I wonder if I am undervaluing my work?

Thanks for visiting.

Apple Almost Finale

Apple Puppet Sticks

This page,

became a matching activity,

which ended up just being little flash cards on sticks like this:

And before the week was out my 3 year old knew all 6 sounds.  I kid you not.

Apple Writing

With the older girls we had a little chat about how to make sentences.

Then we quickly did a little, and I mean little writing.

This is how the Phonogram Sort from my Apples unit thingy majingy turned out.

And as a spin off Hannah did a few of these ( for the 6 phonograms on the apples ).  3 of them got a cut and paste job, and the other 3 just got colored in.

Apple Tree Seasons

This printable came from Sarah.  Just click the worksheet to go to her blog and grab her awesome FREE Apple worksheets.  :o)

We've been using the following for skip counting / counting by 5's for a while now.

They came from Doodlebugs Teaching.  Just click the picture to go to her blog and get this set FREE.

And did you know that we have not one but two apple trees in the backyard?  Yes, we do.  And they are just budding now.

Which is great because the children get to see in real life the seasons of an apple tree.

And I bet that some of you are wondering HOW in the WORLD are our apple trees only just budding now?

I'm in Australia.  :o)

Thanks for visiting.

Apple Maths

There are some really GREAT things out there on the internet~!!

I had an awesome time printing, laminating, and cutting things to get ready for this weeks Apple Maths.

These Apple cards came from Alison at Oopseydaisy. She has a whole packet that can be downloaded off the net - yep, for FREE.

So we got out the pegs for Hannah to count and peg.  She thought it was great fun.

After Hannah had her play with it, Miss Phebe had her turn, but instead of using pegs she just ordered them.

This next lot of printables came from Amy Lattin in her FREE Apple Number Puzzle download.

So Hannah tried out counting 1 - 5.

Then Chloe also did some for her 10's and 5's.

The girls are really enjoying this theme so far.  I expect that their enthusiasm will last until I say it's time to do some writing.  But that's the way things go.

Thanks for visiting.
