Writing the letter { b }.

A variety of worksheets.

Letter { b } recognition.

{ b } is for buttons.

{ b } is for butterfly.

First we have to paint the leaf, and colour the butterfly.

Then we tape the butterfly to the leaf, with it's wings open so that it can flap.

We also took the girls out to the local Gymkhana on the weekend.

Charlotte on a pony.

{ b } is for bee.

Here's a few worksheets to help with your letter { b }.

Just click each one separately to download.

Preschool - { a }

Welcome to my version of Preschool - Letter of the Week for Charlotte { 3 }.  I have had a couple of false starts with her already, but that is mostly because I've been too busy with other children.   So hopefully this is the ticket, this time.  :o)

This week Charlotte and I did up this little craft for the letter { a }.

Her scissor skills are really starting to improve.  She did the letter { a } part and the gluing.

Some writing practice.

Another craft - scissor and gluing practice.

Find and circle the { a } sounds.

If you'd like a copy of this worksheet below just click the worksheet to download.

An ant on the apple.  First she painted the apple.  Then cut it out.  After that, we finished it off with an ant with googly eyes.

Sorting.

Another craft: Ambulance.  It was mostly free styled by myself, but then glued up by Charlotte.  I used some clipart for the little people.

Matching.

Another thing that starts with { a } is "axe" and so that became a craft as well.

Counting and Matching.

Another free styled apple by Charlotte.

She was copying this one as she went.

And finally, some more writing practice.

Preschool { Week 4 }

Wow, now this is one of those weeks in History for Charlotte.

I've got a number of draws filled with random children's books that I just keep around for the girls for fun.  She found this particular book to be very interesting and came running to show me something extremely excited.

What was so important?  Yep, you see that little boy sitting on the toilet?  Yep!  He had caught her eye.  It inspired her so much that she had to go and try it out for herself.

And you know what?  She really did!

So her princess music making potty became a foot stool and the potty ring took it's place in the palace loo instead.

In the academic department this week:

Cut & Paste alphabet sorting for the letters /a/ and /m/.

Charlotte tried a new activity.

Ummm, well, yeah.....  more mess at this point I think.

Thanks for visiting.

Week 6

The weeks just wizz by don't they?

This week we continued with phonogram work for Phebe.

Phebe asked me for some extra "fun" school work, so I gave her this to do.

Phebe finished her LA 105 book.  I almost cried when she forgot when to use oi / oy.  She lost a lot of marks for things I was hoping that she had thoroughly learnt and would remember.

Chloe continued to learn more about paragraphs and outlining.  This week she looked at parallel construction.  And all this work on paragraphs / outlines is really starting to pay off BIG time.  I have noticed that when she is required to write a paragraph now that it is coming much EASIER. I have also noticed her attitude to it has improved immensely as well.  I guess having a skill gives not only the ability to do something but also the confidence too.

For History this week we marched right on through SOTW III - Chapter 9.

The girls used the coloring page from the companion guide to trace a picture to go with their copywork.

I had to laugh when I saw Phebes eye.

Hannah cheered me up with this:

Can you believe that my 3 year old has done 3 workbooks from this course already?  She sounds out words so well.  I am always delighted when hearing her work out the words.

Last but not least, Little Miss discovered the keyboard and has been having a heap of fun with it.  In fact ALL the children have been having turns at making "noise".

Now that we've done our first 6 weeks of school it's time to have a couple of weeks off.  So that's what we'll be doing over the next fortnight.  I'll still be blogging though.  I might miss a couple of days, with family visiting and all, but I'll still try to find some things to chat about.  :o)

Community Workers Numerals

To help make sure that Hannah is all good to go with Maths next year we've been focusing on writing her numerals.

Here are a few worksheets that she's done.

And to help make sure that I have figured out how to use Google Docs to share stuff - I have made this a download directly from THIS blog.

Yep, so if this works, you won't have to go anywhere to download stuff.  Just here.  :o)  Well, for my freebies anyway.  I might run out of space along the way and have to move things along.  I dunno, haven't worked it all out YET.

Just click one of the pictures.  If you do download it, can you please let me know if it all went super good.  :o)
