My Monkey Counting

Charlotte my 3 year old monkey is almost ready to start doing some counting, and it is with this in mind that I did this next little pack.  { I've got the same format in my Humpty Dumpty and Polly Put the Kettle On packs } but you know me, always have to have them done in different cutey themes and clipart.  So anyway, what I did is take this portion of the pack and rework it for a Monkey theme.

Numbers 1 - 10.

Tracing and Missing numbers to 20.

Counting cards to 30.

What Motivates Us?

Now imagine putting that into our homechools.  All we'd have to do after that is sit back and wait for the Einstein moments and capture them on our cameras.

Now that I'm thinking about it even more: which I might add, sounds incredibly and very much like, but in a succinct kind of way, the three listed points above.  I highly recommend the book as a pick me up, thought provoking, awesome encouragement for any homeschool.  Additionally, Joanne also talks about the part that character has to play in all of it too.

{ The Week We Have Off School }

This week we had a week off school.  I still did the odd school planning.  The grade 2 lesson 5 spelling resources are now available.  Hoping to get the others finished before Monday.

We watched "The Great Gatsby" last night and now Chloe has gone off with the novel in hand for a read.

Stamping Morning

This week we're relaxing with a week off school.

So I went out with a friend to a craft morning.

What do you do when you don't have a name tag?

Yep, you make one right there and then.

Then you mess around for a couple of hours until you only have this almost completed.

Wow, am I super un-organised and baby brained out.

Never the less, a lovely morning out.

Today I want to share a quick little freebie for practicing Rounding by Tens, Hundreds, Thousands.

A set of cards.

The pack also includes a black and white version.

Also included is a recording worksheet.

This is a CONDENSED VERSION - 3 in 1 center.

One set of cards - three different game settings.

Just have the child select whether they are doing tens, hundreds, or thousands.  There's a space to write their game level on the page.  Then use the cards { which are numbered } to work out what their answer should be.
