I love old books.
I also own a few of them too.
In particular I have the following two lovelies:
Britain and Her Neighbours - Book Five - 1485 to 1688
1923 copy
Yes, I know they are old school text books.
But I really, really, really like them.
There are test questions in the back of this one.
And a helpful timeline as well.
I also like the way each chapter and section is laid out. They are done in such a way that taking notes / outlining is made particularly easy - should we choose to notebook any section.
If I had to teach outlining these are the types of books that I would use as a spine. They lend themselves to that type of skill extremely well~!!
The House of History - The Second Storey
1953 copy
They are both on my list of 'to read' for next year. :o)
Since they both will fall nicely into the Renaissance era.
So we shall be meeting quite a few people.
Thanks for visiting.
I have The House of History as well. I really like the writing style.
ReplyDeleteI like the old illustrations. The modern trend makes me go Ick!
ReplyDeleteI bet they smell wonderful too! I love to smell old books! Was that weird? Ha ha

I love old books, too. I have a display out right now with the old book Hans Brinker and the Silver Skates, along with two pair of old wooden skates. Sometimes, I put a stack on the fireplace with other items to decorate.
ReplyDeleteAnd, sometimes, of course, I read them. :)
I love old books and collect them when I can. I wish I could share some of mine but they are all packed up right now. I really like your blog! (visiting you from the Crew, you left a comment on my blog)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
