The girls LOVED it.
The book is filled with beautiful lined drawings.
{ Jane and Mr Bingley }
{ Elizabeth and Darcy }
Here you see Miss Elizabeth Bennet playing the pianoforte with Mr Darcy looking on.
The story is told on the left hand side while displaying pictures on the right hand side.
On this particuluar page Mr Darcy is visiting Mr Bennet in his library. Can you possibly guess at what his visit would be for?
A truly beautiful and romantic classic.
Even my oldest daughter listened in on the story being read and couldn't wait to hear how it ended.
After the book was finished we all watched the MOVIE by the same name, as a treat.
I shall now be on the hunt for more of Jane Austen's works in the illustrated format.
Today I am linking up with:
I hope you can join us.
So there is a picture for every page of writing? That looks like a great way to introduce a classic like that! I love the the pictures are simple and not distracting. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteYes, there is a picture on every right hand side { in this particular book }. It’s an awesome way to introduce the classics to a younger audience. I am hoping that all these illustrated classics help to set a love for reading and that they will want to read the original works when they get older.
Love it! Who publishes that edition?
